Kimber 1911s

After seeing the movie SWAT in 2003, I thought their handguns are really cool so I researched on what pistol they are using. I found out that they are using the Kimber LAPD SWAT Custom II, also known as the Kimber Custom TLE/RL II. And from that moment on, I've fallen in love with Kimbers.

The Kimber Custom TLE/RL II is identical to the pistol used by the LAPD SWAT

I really don't know why but the 1911s that Kimber produces just have a grip on me. The details on their handguns are just beautiful. Just the Kimber logo itself speaks of simplicity yet bears remarkable quality. Put that on the pistol slide and it makes a whole lot of difference.

I've learned that there are airsoft conversion kits that can be used to turn a regular 1911 airsoft gas blowback pistol into a Kimber; but I was still in college back then, and the kits are very pricey for a student like me. However, that didn't make me turn away from Kimber 1911s. They are just exceptionally elegant and they exude an aura of toughness and precision.

Aside from the LAPD SWAT Custom II, another very popular model of Kimber 1911 is the Warrior. These models are so popular that in the airsoft world, their conversion kits are the bestsellers. The Warrior's twin, the Desert Warrior, is a big hit as well. The dark earth color of the frame and the slide, the sand color of the grip, and the blacks of the other components like the sights, grip and thumb safeties, trigger and magazine catch make this handgun a beauty and a beast in one. The popularity of desert-themed guns and equipment in airsoft have had such a big impact on the sales of Desert Warrior guns and kits.

After reading reviews and watching videos about Kimber 1911s, it made sense to me why they're so popular. The workmanship that Kimber pistolsmiths put in their guns is top-notch. Users of the real steel Kimbers are almost perfectly satisfied with their equipment. Although I've heard and read that the magazine that comes with the gun is not at par with the quality of the gun itself, it's a small price to pay as it is the only downside to owning a Kimber. You'd buy spares anyway, so one can just keep that free magazine in the box. Overall - with the LAPD SWAT, the United States Marines - Special Operations Command, the USA Shooting Rapid Fire Pistol Team, and the LAPD SIS (Special Investigations Section) choosing Kimber - you can be sure that every 1911 that comes out of Kimber's factory is one of the finest, most dependable, and most accurate 1911s out there.
